Connection device for coaxial cables OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
The present invention belongs to the sector of signal distribution facilities, such as TV signals, and more specifically to connection devices for coaxial cables.
The object of the present invention is a connection device that facilitates the connection of the different coaxial cables of an installation, providing direct and simple access to the connectors of said device, avoiding problems of space and complexity when connecting each one of the installation cables in the device. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Currently, connection devices, used in signal distribution facilities, both domestic and in the professional field are widely known.
These devices, whether active or passive, are located on a main distribution line, and allow the signal to be processed and distributed, as well as to produce one or more branches of the line; being these devices the ones in charge of modulating, amplifying the signal, converting in frequency, etc., as well as of dividing or segregating it towards the different equipment or users.
Thus, in relation to the current connection devices of signal distribution facilities, several drawbacks have been detected, including at least the following:
- Current devices have fixed position input / output connectors or terminals, generally located on the sides of the device, without the possibility of modifying their position or adapting to other configurations. This is an added difficulty for the operator when performing the tasks of connecting the different coaxial cables of an installation, where each cable usually comes from a direction or

orientation different from each other, something that is usual and that is fixed by the characteristics of each building, without the possibility of variation, as shown in Figure 1A.
- In most cases it is quite difficult to connect to the device, either because of the small size and / or configuration of the device itself, or because it is located in a place of reduced space, which prevents easy access to the connectors of the device , such as a registration box, where it is a very common situation that conventional current devices do not fit in the registration boxes, due to the stiffness and radius of curvature of the coaxial cables, as shown in the figure 1B.
- The previous points, have as a direct consequence a greater volume of space occupied by the final connection of the cables, which results in a greater possibility of hooks and / or electrical accidents, and a worse aesthetic solution of the installation. This also implies a longer installation time and therefore labor costs.
- In addition, another common problem in an installation with coaxial cables has to do with the so-called "cable stripping", which becomes a delicate task, since every time an error is made, the cable must be stripped again and reduce the cable length by 1 or 2 cm. It may also be necessary to replace a damaged device, of a certain size and position of the connectors, with a new device of different size and location of connectors. If for this or another reason the installer finds that the installation cable falls short in length and does not reach the connector of the device to which it has to be connected, this is one of the most complex situations to solve without changing the cable in question (not always possible, especially in old installations) and operators are often forced to make a splice or similar, which is no more than a "patch" or "fudge" solution with few guarantees. DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION By means of the present invention, the aforementioned drawbacks are solved by providing a connection device for coaxial cables that facilitates the connection of the different cables of an installation, with the capacity to adapt to the location and / or particular origin of each cable. , offering a direct and simple access to

The device connectors. In this way, space problems and maneuvering difficulties are avoided when connecting each of the cables of an installation in the device object of the invention.
The connection device described herein comprises: a base body in an interior of which at least one PCB printed circuit board is housed; where the base body has a plurality of connection openings; and connectors for coupling in the openings of the base body, in which the coaxial cables of an external installation are connectable, the connectors being internally connected to the PCB through secondary cables.
More particularly, the base body and / or the cover have connection openings in at least two of their faces; and the secondary cables that connect the connectors and the PCB are of sufficient length and flexibility such that said connectors are movable and / or movable for coupling in any of the different openings of the base body and / or the cover, without the connectors are limited to a fixed position inside the device.
Thus, this special feature of being able to freely move and move the connectors thanks to the flexible secondary cables allows to solve situations where the coaxial cable to be connected falls short in length and does not reach the connector of the device, being this, as already mentioned, One of the most complex problems to solve. In this way, the present invention provides a certain capacity for adaptation and flexibility to the particular contingencies of each installation, allowing to solve this problem by not housing the device connector in the corresponding opening, without removing the connector and going to “ search ”for the connector to which it must be connected. This is a clearly more effective and safe solution than the realization of a conventional splice, providing the installer with a resource to turn to whenever necessary.
At this point, it should be noted that when we refer to the “faces” of the base body and / or the cover here, it refers here to any of its faces or surfaces, be it the side walls, the upper face or the underside of them.

In addition, the above-mentioned characteristic of presenting secondary cables dimensionally adapted in length and flexibility, far from appearing to be a trivial or random characteristic, must be of a specially selected material, so as to allow two essential aspects to be combined:
a) it must be a cable that, although of smaller section than the external cables of the installation to be connected, is capable of transmitting the signal without loss or relevant, appreciable attenuation, which may affect operation.
b) it must be a cable with a certain degree of flexibility and curvature, since being located inside the device, already small in size, the cable must be able to fold to one side and the other to allow the corresponding connector to move any of the openings of the base body and / or the lid.
More specifically, the degree of flexibility and the minimum degree of curvature will basically depend on the type of conductor and the type of dielectric. According to a preferred embodiment, with which optimum performance has been obtained, the central conductor is a multifilar conductor (formed by several wires), while the dielectric is made of polyethylene (PE). However, it has been foreseen that these may be of different types or materials that offer equally good behavior.
Preferably, it is provided that the connection device may comprise a cover mounted on the base body for the opening and closing of the connection device, said cover in turn disposing of a plurality of connection openings.
After years of experience in the electrical installation sector, specifically installation of TV equipment cables, it has been proven that the solution described here, although structurally simple, is a significant improvement for electrical wiring work, facilitating access to the device connections, and minimizing the times used, while constituting a solution that occupies a minimum space, since each of the fixed cables of the installation can be connected directly from any of its

orientations, without having to go around the device until you find the connectors or connection terminals, currently in a fixed position.
More preferably, the device has a rectangular or square prismatic shape, although the possibility is contemplated that it may have, however, any other configuration that respects the essential characteristics of the invention.
DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS To complement the description that is being made and in order to help a better understanding of the features of the invention, according to a preferred example of practical realization thereof, it is accompanied as an integral part of said description, a set of drawings in which, with an illustrative and non-limiting nature, the following has been represented:
Figures 1A and 1B.-They show a conventional connection device, according to the current state of the art, where the connectors are fixed, also showing cables before and after being connected, each coming from a different direction.
Figure 2.- Shows a perspective view of the connection device of the invention, its cover being shown in the open position to appreciate the interior of the base body, the connectors and the internal secondary cables thereof.
Figures 3A, 3B, 3C.-They show different views of the connection device of the invention, presenting different connection options according to each specific application, changing the location of the connectors. PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION
An example of a preferred embodiment is described below with reference to the aforementioned figures, without limiting or reducing the scope of protection of the present invention.
Figure 2 shows a view of the device (1) of connections for coaxial cables (A,

B, C), according to an embodiment of the invention, in this case of rectangular configuration and comprising:
- a base body (10) in an interior of which a PCB board (12) is housed, and which has three connection openings (11), located in this preferred and non-limiting example in three of its lateral faces;
- a cover (20) mounted on the base body (10) for opening and closing the device (1), and also having three connection openings (21) arranged analogously on three of its lateral faces; Y
- connectors (30), which in the present embodiment are called "connectors F" for coaxial cables (A, B, C), see figure 2, for coupling in the openings (11, 21) of the base body (10) and the cover (20), and in which the coaxial cables (A, B, C) of an external installation are connectable, the connectors (30) being internally connected to the PCB (12) through secondary cables ( 31), also shown in Figures 3A-3C, which have sufficient length and flexibility such that the connectors (30) are movable and / or movable for coupling in any of the different openings (11, 21) of the body base (10) and / or the cover (20), without said connectors (30) being limited to a fixed position within the device (1).
In this way, it is possible to cover 100% of the possible wiring combinations, according to the needs of each installation, as shown in Figures 3A, 3B and 3C, in which different final solutions can be observed, without more than move and move the connectors (30) over the openings (11, 21) that are more suitable for each case depending on the specific direction from which the fixed coaxial cables (A, B, C) of the installation in question come. Even though it has not been represented in the figures, it would be possible to remove the connectors (30) and separate them a certain distance from the base body (10) and / or cover (20), where due to the flexible nature of the secondary cables (31), it is possible to orient said connectors (30) towards a hypothetical coaxial cable of an installation that may have fallen short and does not reach the device (1), either by excessive "stripping" of the cable or any another reason, thus solving a problem

quite frequent but complex to solve, and avoiding the botched solution of having to perform a cable splice.
As shown in Figure 2, in this embodiment both the base body (10)
5 as the lid (20) have openings (10, 21) in a half-arc, concave and convex configuration respectively, and intended to face each other, one above the other, in the closed position of the lid (20) until forming circular holes where the connectors (30) are coupled. This particular configuration of the openings (11, 21) in half arc allows to quickly release the connectors (30) in the opening position of the
10 cover (20); however, although it has not been represented in the figures, it is envisioned that the openings may only exist in one of the bodies, cover (20) or base body (10), such that said openings would be formed by a single closed hole or open.
Also, in this example the lid (20) is foldable between an opening position that allows
15 the access to the interior of the base body (10) and a closed position where the cover (10) is mounted on said base body (10). However, it is envisioned that the cover (20) can be removable and completely detachable from the base body (10) by means of screwed means or the like, or even said cover (20) does not exist.
20 Therefore, through the connection device (1) written here, a simple but effective solution is provided for the installation of electrical wiring, such as coaxial TV cables or similar, allowing easy and direct access to the device (1) by incorporating mobile connectors (30), movable by the user himself, and allowing to cover the whole range of possible combinations in terms of
25 orientations and directions of the fixed cables of the installation, so that the location of the connectors (30) can be adapted quickly and easily to the particular arrangement of the fixed cables of the installation in question, and not vice versa, avoiding In addition, agglomerations or unwanted crossings of the cables, which often occupy a large volume of space and constitute a clearly optimizable aesthetic solution.
